Nico Robin, first appearing in the One Piece manga in chapter 114 and episode 67 of the anime, is an archaeologist and historian affiliated with the Straw Hat Pirates. She is the sole survivor of the island of Ohara, which was destroyed by the World Government due to its scholars researching the forbidden Poneglyphs.

Due to this tragic past, Robin possesses extensive knowledge of ancient history and the ability to read the Poneglyphs, stone tablets that hold clues to the true history of the world. The World Government considers her a threat due to this ability, leading her to live a life on the run, associating with various criminal organizations to survive.

She initially joins the Baroque Works organization under the codename "Miss All Sunday," working alongside Crocodile. After Baroque Works collapses, she eventually joins the Straw Hat Pirates, seeking a place where she truly belongs and pursuing her dream of uncovering the true history of the world.
